Context

In the winter of 2022, I worked at Decathlon as a Product Designer, leading the design of business module system for the internal integration platform. This is my first project when I joined Decathlon. The main challenges were new concept for all stakeholder, the lack of design assets, and the steep learning curve in a new industry.

As a owner of this project, I built the 0-1 framework for the design content and shared my work through active communication and regular feedback with the stakeholders.

My role

I executed the tasks such as identifying issues, defining problem scopes, prioritizing tasks, designing solutions, conducting testing, and overseeing the implementation process.

Understanding

在接触新项目之前，我需要去了解一下之前的设计状况，当时的设计师已经离职，所以平台现在的状况是：

1) 不同团队做的界面不统一

2) 产品已经上线，但质量很差

3) 需要考虑重新设计

同时我从以下渠道收集用户需求：

1) 产品部门以及运营部门协商，理解用户需求和痛点，确定需要优化的功能和页面（优先级：高）

2) 从使用过该产品的用户中收集意见，了解他们的使用体验和需求（优先级：中）
通过组织用户测试和访谈，获取更多反馈和建议（优先级：中）

3) 分析产品的数据，了解用户访问量、停留时间等指标，发现问题（优先级：中）

4) 收集销售和客服收到的用户反馈和问题报告（优先级：低）
通过这些渠道，我可以全面了解产品的问题和用户的需求，为重新设计打下基础。

Rapidly Consolidate Design Assets to Enhance Efficiency

Target

Ensure product design system aligns with the development to quickly build a modular component library

Consolidate existing design patterns and assets into cohesive styles, reducing unnecessary duplications while supporting flexibility

Background

The company has accumulated diverse design patterns across its products. Additionally, system is looking for ways to optimize UX.

Goals Constraints

Categorize existing designs, map user journeys, develop style guides, fonts and design components.
